Kurt Warner will spend Sunday night in a New York hospital as a result of a concussion suffered on a sack in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Giants. After the game, head coach Mike Martz told reporters that he "probably shouldn't have played him [Warner] in the second half. At lot of the time, he didn't seem to understand the plays we were calling." Team doctors described the severity of the concussion as "mild-to-medium." Warner also suffered a significant concussion in December of 2000.
OUR VIEW
Perhaps that explains Warner's many miscues, including six fumbles (four lost) and his many lousy passes. There is a very real chance that Warner won't start next week, in which case Marc Bulger would get the start. If Bulger plays well against a terrible 49er secondary, Warner might not see the field for a while.
mark and jr........you got lucky by drafting these guys!
