Titans signed LT Michael Roos to a six-year, $43 million contract. The deal includes $15 million in guarantees.
The Titans are making sure that Vince Young will be well protected in new coordinator Mike Heimerdinger's more vertical offense. Roos, who is 6'7/315 and only 25, is a highly athletic blind side tackle who is effective against speedy edge rushers. Roos could improve as a run blocker, but this is well worth the investment. He's $4.3 million annually cheaper than Jake Long.

Titans linebacker says he will play with PAIN
For a good while, Anthony Fowler had trouble sleeping.
His torn-up right shoulder had been repaired, but as he rehabilitated it, he found it nearly impossible to get comfortable for extended stretches of time.
"We expected him to be ready," Coach Jeff Fisher said. "I don't think he could participate in a padded practice right now. He is probably several weeks away from that. But everything else is going well for him, he was able to get out and mow yesterday, and that's a good sign."

Titans signed RT David Stewart to a six-year, $38.9 million contract. The deal includes $10 million guaranteed.
Stewart got $6 million to sign and will see a $2 million roster bonus in the first year. The Mississippi State product goes 6'7/318 and is a tenacious, intimidating run blocker who's frequently drawn comparisons to Eagles right tackle Jon Runyan.
